Pure Reef Balance is a mixture of live bacteria and enzymes living within a unique, white gel ball specially designed for use in tropical marine aquariums. The bacteria can convert harmful ammonia, increase the bacteria levels in an aging aquarium or bring a brand new, sterile saltwater tank to life, making it ready for its first fish. It is reef safe and is being used in hundreds if not thousands of reef aquariums around the world, with great results. Lots of our customers place Pure Reef Balance into their pellet reactors to work with the pellets.

Pure Reef Balance is great for fish only marine tanks where there are a heavy fish load and heavy feeding regime. You can use it to seed biological filters when setting the tank up and as a weekly or monthly maintenance product. Use it in a fish-only (FO,) or in a fish-only with live rock (FOWLR). It can be used in conjunction with live sand, live rock or ceramics. In fact, it’s a great product to bring ceramic aquascaping reef rocks to life by covering them in beneficial bacteria.

Pure Reef Balance comes as a 60 ball pack which will dose a 250 liter tank for 12 weeks. It can be used more or less than that, so we recommend using it when necessary. It would be very hard to overdose, and at the same 60 balls, if used in a much larger aquarium volume, will still be of huge benefit to any system.

Drop the balls into a filter section or sump of any marine tank and within hours the balls will start to shrink as they release their bacteria. The bacteria are hungry for any biological load so will shrink the quickest in aquariums with levels of high nitrogenous waste.
